Located 50 kilometers from Da Lat and surrounded by high gorge and pine forest, Pongour waterfall is powerful and magnificent as the waterfall slips into numerous sandstone stepping from top to bottom.
From 10 meters above, the massive water speeds and booms down 7 floors into a big pool, creating sonorous thunder-like sounds, especially in the raining season it is more violent and truculent in fanciful dew. Its echo can be heard from miles around.
Standing on the foot of the Pongour fall, tourists enjoy an exciting feeling, owing to massive water volumes’ sounds. At the tourist area, visitors pass through the gate and reach the foot of the waterfall by taking a well-built pathway. The waterfall has annually welcomed hundreds thousand arrivals of tourists.
In addition to Pongour fall, the central highland province of Lam Dong has existed other powerful waterfalls like Cam Ly, Prenn, An-kroet and Gougah.
At 10m tall and 50m wide, Gougah Waterfall makes up sounds of musical tune amid mountainous ranges and jungles, bringing a grave and fanciful scenery in Da Lat region and it is regarded as the most imposing and beautiful in Vietnam. Da Lat, so-called city of love, is built on a plateau some 1,500-meters above sea level, and enjoys the mild climate of an everlasting spring and marvelous landscape with waterfalls, lakes, springs, pine hills, and beautiful flowers… that many people are regarded it as a paradise on earth. |
